Project Management
Automated Grade Control

As a site work contractor, we are constantly reacting to changing site conditions and adverse weather. That is where our Project Management team comes in.  Their job is to plan for the unknown while keeping your project on track. Our Project Managers are a key resource in achieving our high standards of quality, scheduling, and safety. They oversee the subcontractors that we use on our jobs and ensure the quality of work meets Poindexter's standards. Just like the field staff, our Project Managers use the latest in technology to get the job done. We stay connected with our clients, subcontractors and suppliers with Autodesk ConstructWare and we use Primavera and Microsoft Project software for project scheduling. These programs give us an edge in identifying critical path activities, scheduling crews and anticipating delays or early finishes. Agtek Earthwork 4D enables us to create state of the art earthwork take-offs which helps our team of estimators provide estimates for any size budget and value engineering ideas.

The Trimble GCS900 Grade Control System is a cutting-edge earthmoving grade control system that puts design surfaces, grades and alignments inside the cab. The system uses GPS, GPS and laser, or construction total station technology to accurately position the blade or bucket in real time.

Using the different positioning technologies provides blade control to the following accuracies:

  • Trimble MS980/MS990 Smart GPS Antenna - blade control to 20-30 millimeters (0.1 foot)

  • Trimble SPS930 or SPS730 Universal Total Station - blade control to 2-5 millimeters (0.007 to 0.016 feet)

  • Trimble GPS with Laser Augmentation - blade control to 3-6 millimeters (0.01 to 0.02 feet)

Coupled with Trimble Business Center software that effectively and seamlessly allows us to manage data between the office, Trimble SCS900 Site Controller Software and Trimble GCS900 machine control technology, significantly reduces material overages and dramatically improves productivity and profitability.
